PHOTOGRAPHY

Elise Kirk is a photofilmic artist and educator whose work explores human constructs of place and ecological being. She was raised in middle-Missouri, studied documentary film at Columbia College Chicago and Spanish cinema on a Fulbright grant in Madrid, and worked for a decade as a television producer in Washington D.C. and New York for clients including National Geographic, Discovery, and VICE Media. She completed her MFA in Photography at Rhode Island School of Design and is currently an Assistant Professor of Photography at the University of Kansas in Lawrence. She has participated in numerous residencies, including the International Studio & Curatorial Program (ISCP) in New York, Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts in Nebraska, and the U.S. National Park Service. Her work has shown nationally and internationally.
